Rita Ora takes control with her new album, ‘You & I’

Pop star Rita Ora has always been a force of nature when it comes to making music, but now she is ready to take things even further with the release of her new album, You & I. The record marks the first under her new partnership with BMG and sees her taking control of all future master recordings and enjoying more artistic freedom than ever before. With Rita having co-written every track on the album, You & I promises to be her most diaristic body of work yet.

The album threads together different chapters of the singer’s relationship, reflecting a new stage in Rita’s life and career. “The ‘You’ in You & I represents more than just the man I love,” Rita says. “It’s my mum, my friends, my fans, and in some ways, it represents the relationship I have with myself. This album has been like my diary for the past two years, and I’m so thrilled you finally get to hear it.

The record includes previously released singles like ‘Don’t Think Twice,’ ‘Praising You (feat. Fatboy Slim)’ and ‘You Only Love Me,’ which have accumulated nearly 100 million global streams. But now Rita fans can get an even more personal view of the artist with tracks like ‘Girl in the Mirror,’ a homage to her younger self, and ‘Notting Hill,’ which hearkens back to her teenage years. Rita also makes sure to have fun on tracks like ‘That Girl,’ featuring an interpolation of Eddie Murphy’s ‘Party All The Time,’ and the defiant ‘Shape of Me.”

Rita Ora’s career has already seen her achieve 13 UK Top 10 singles and four UK Number One singles, as well as a number three Billboard Hot 100 song, seven top-ten hits on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs Chart and six top-twenty singles on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart. With You & I, she is now set to reach new heights as she takes control of her destiny and gives us a deeply personal account of what it feels like to fall in love. Listen to You & I now and experience Rita Ora’s journey.
