The hit Amazon Prime series Reacher, based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child, has begun filming for the show’s second season with a host of new additions to the cast.
The show premiered in February 2022 and quickly rose to the top as one of the streamer’s most-watched titles. Here’s everything we know about Reacher season 2 so far.
What to Expect from Reacher Season 2
While the first season of Reacher was adapted from The Killing Floor, Childs’ first novel, season 2 will leap to book 11, Bad Luck and Trouble.
The book summary states: “When someone makes a small anonymous deposit into Reacher’s bank account, it triggers his fixation for math and his investigative instincts.”.
There are brutal murders, a complex murder mystery, a quest for revenge, and a race against time to save the people Reacher considers family.
The series will follow the format of the novels, with each book following Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in a different location with new characters.
We’re excited to see the new places and faces, but sadly it means that Roscoe and Finlay won’t be returning. However, Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), a good friend of Reacher’s, will be back for the second season.
Who’s Joining the Cast?
Rory Cochrane (CSI: Miami), Serinda Swan (Inhumans), and Ferdinand Kingsley (The Sandman) are among the new series regulars announced, with Domenick Lombardozzi (The Wire) playing a guest star.
In addition, Luke Bilyk, Dean McKenzie, Edsson Morales, Andres Collantes, Shannon Kook-Chun, Ty Victor Olsson, Josh Blacker, and Al Sapienza have also joined the cast.
When Can We Watch It?
Production on the new season has just begun and will wrap up on March 30th 2023. While there’s no official premiere date yet, it’s safe to assume that the new season will debut sometime late next year.
