God of War: Ragnarök new gameplay trailer and limited edition DualSense controller

Share

With just two months until we can get our hands on God of War: Ragnarök, a brand new story trailer and themed Limited Edition DualSense controller dropped during Sony’s State of Play event. At just over three minutes long, the trailer gives us a deeper look at the game’s story, its characters, some breathtaking locations we’ll explore. Here’s everything we saw in the trailer.

Kratos and Atreus’ Relationship

One of the major themes of the trailer is the relationship between Kratos and Atreus. Atreus is keeping a secret from his father, and Kratos is struggling to understand his son. However, despite not knowing where Atreus is going or what he’s up to, Kratos follows him, seemingly bound by fate.

The Adversaries They’ll Face

In addition to exploring the father-son relationship, the trailer also shows us some enemies Kratos and Atreus will face. These include a giant jellyfish creature, an army of skeletal warriors, and even Thor himself. While it’s unclear how exactly they’ll fit into the game’s story, it’s safe to say they’ll provide a hearty challenge for our heroes.

The Norse God Tyr

One of the more intriguing elements introduced in the trailer is the character of Tyr, a Norse god who apparently plays a significant role in God of War: Ragnarok. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about him yet. Still, he holds some secrets about Kratos’ past—secrets that may come back to haunt our hero as he ventures into the Nordic territory.

The God of War: Ragnarok trailer has left us with more questions than answers, but that’s to be expected, given how little we know about the game. However, one thing is for sure: this game is shaping to be one of the most hotly anticipated releases of 2022. We can’t wait to see more.
